A Study on the Liver Function Test of Long-Term Administration of Psychotropic Drug

Abstract
The author performed the liver function test of 30 cases of schizophrenia who were administrated psychotropic drug (chlorpromazine, daily average dosage 150-600mg) for a long time (over half 2 years) at the department of neuropsychiatry, Busan National University Hospital from April 1975 to March 1976. The iterms in this test studied total protein, A/G ratio, thymol turbidity test, cephalein-cholesterol test, bilirubin test, serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase, and alkaline phosphatase.
The results obtained in this study were as follows;
1. Total protein and A/G ratio were within normal limit.
2. No specific abnormal findings were elicited in thymol turbidity test and cephalein-cholesterol flocculation test.
3. The bilirubin test (direct, indirect, and total) was within normal range.
4. There were no abnormal findings in serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase and alkaline phosphatase.
